world wide telescope

The worldwide telescope is an excellent tool for use in the classroom and at home. You can use it to see planets, stars, our solar system and the universe beyond. It has amazing images and insightful guided tours to watch and listen. We'll be using it as part of our class topic 'The Earth, Moon and the Sun', so get permission from your parents first before installing it at home.

etherpad

What a great day for our technology lesson! Etherpad was another teaching/learning tool I introduced today.

You remember what happened? Etherpad is basically a writing pad, a page online that you type text on. But what is so brilliant about it is that once you set the writing pad up you can share the URL (that's the address of the page) with other people so that they too can write on your pad!

You could write stories and assignments together, share ideas at the same time and many other uses that we will uncover in the next few weeks.

I will start a new pad during ICT on Monday afternoon.

Edmodo - an online virtual classroom

Hi everyone, I'm sure you are just as excited about Edmodo as I am. We launched our blogging platform today in school and already some of you have started using it (Maria H and Ainhoa).

I have a lot of ideas for this tool as it will no doubt become very useful over the next 8 weeks of our final term. Check it every day for updates and assignments (homework) and remember to reply and send links, files etc to either myself or 4C so that we can all use them.

This is going to be fun :)
